Privacy Policy
Overview
PaidPromoTracker, operated by Paid Promo Tracker LLC (“we”, “us”), publishes data about publicly disclosed paid stock promotions. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use paidpromotracker.com, how we use it, which third parties are involved, and the rights you have over it. It applies to the website and to the emails we send.
Information we collect
- Email address: collected when you create an account or subscribe to alerts.
- Phone number: collected only if you log in with phone verification, where that option is offered.
- IP address and approximate location: used for security, abuse prevention, and jurisdiction-aware consent (for example, showing a separate marketing opt-in where the law requires one).
- Usage data and analytics events: pages viewed, interactions, browser and device information, collected through the analytics tools described below (only after you consent where consent is required).
Sources of information
We collect information directly from you (signup and account forms) and automatically from your browser (cookies, analytics events, server logs). We do not purchase personal information from data brokers.
How we use it
- Providing and operating the service, including your account.
- Transactional email: account, security, and service notices. These are sent regardless of marketing preference.
- Marketing email: only where you opt in; every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
- Security, fraud, and abuse prevention.
- Analytics and product improvement.
- Compliance with legal obligations.
Third-party services
The following services process data on our behalf or receive data when you use the site:
- Google Tag Manager: loads our analytics and advertising tags. Tags that store or read identifiers run only after you consent via the cookie banner (Google Consent Mode v2).
- Advertising pixels loaded through Google Tag Manager, including the Meta Pixel when enabled. These run only with your consent and are disabled by a rejection or a Global Privacy Control signal.
- Resend: delivers our transactional and marketing email; it processes your email address for that purpose.
- Twilio Verify: delivers phone verification codes when phone sign-in is offered; it processes your phone number for that purpose.
- Market-data provider: a third-party service supplies the quote and chart data displayed on the site; we do not send it your personal information.
- Hosting and CDN infrastructure: providers that serve the site process connection data, including IP addresses, in standard traffic logs.
Cookies and tracking
access_token: an essential session cookie that keeps you signed in. Not used for tracking.lfw_signup_variant: assigns you to an A/B variant of the signup flow.ppt_consent: a record in your browser’s local storage of the cookie-consent choice you made, so we don’t re-ask on every visit.- Analytics and advertising cookies: set only by tags loaded through Google Tag Manager after you accept the consent banner.
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a binding opt-out: when your browser sends it, analytics and advertising storage are denied and existing tracking cookies are deleted, taking precedence over any earlier acceptance. You can also change your choice at any time: whenever analytics tags are in use, the “Cookie settings” link in the site footer re-opens the consent banner, and a rejection deletes tracking cookies.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Depending on where you live (including under the CCPA/CPRA and similar state laws), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of it. To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will verify the request against the account email and respond within 45 days, as the CCPA requires (extendable once by a further 45 days with notice). We do not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Do we sell or share personal information?
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising tags loaded through Google Tag Manager can constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under the CPRA; those tags run only after you opt in via the consent banner, and rejecting the banner or sending a Global Privacy Control signal opts you out of that sharing.
Retention
Account information is kept for as long as your account exists and deleted or anonymized after a verified deletion request. Records of your legal and marketing consent are retained as evidence of compliance. Server and analytics logs are retained on the schedules of the providers named above.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards: encrypted transport (HTTPS), scoped credentials, and access restricted to what operating the service requires. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes, we update the effective date at the top of this page (which is the version recorded with your consent) and, for material changes, notify you by email or a site notice. Earlier consent records keep the version they were captured under.
